Hanz first encountered Christianity in high school, sitting through chapel sessions mostly as a welcome escape from school assembly. He came to believe in Christ when he learned that only God's love was truly perfect. That conviction grew through expository preaching and bible studies that gave him a firm grasp of the gospel, while being discipled by mature Christians helped the truth take root in his heart and bear fruit in how he lived. He recently married Hailey, and when he's not at church or at work, he enjoys hunting down good food with her — they've grown to love "kor cha bi" Penang food, though as a KL boy at heart, he still misses his hakka mee and chilli pan mee.
