At Cross & Crown Penang, we value our theological heritage in its understanding of Scripture and salvation. Summarized as Protestant Reformed Theology, this was the third key value explored in our ongoing sermon series. At the heart of the Protestant Reformation was the rediscovery and restoration of God to the center of the Christian faith. And since theology is the study of God, Reformed Theology focuses on who God is - His glory, holiness, and sovereignty. It helps us see that God’s glory is the ultimate goal of all things, and that His glory is for our good. God achieves His glory and purposes through His sovereign grace. Reformed Theology’s emphasis on the sovereign grace of God keeps God central and ensures that He alone receives all the glory. In living out Reformed Theology, let us come in humility before the Sovereign Lord Jesus, with the fullness of assurance. May our focus remain centered on the Sovereign Lord, who loves and saves unworthy sinners by His sovereign grace.
