Last week, we looked at Acts 18:18-19:10 to see how God strengthens His church through His careful guidance and direction. Here we see God strategically directing Paul's journey, including his departure from Ephesus and return to Antioch, strengthening believers along the way. Meanwhile, Apollos is also taught and strengthened by Priscilla and Aquila. As iron sharpens iron, God’s church is strengthened when believers sharpen one another through the understanding of the Scriptures and in their walk with Christ. We also see that God's kingdom is built and strengthened through the faithful speaking of the word of the Lord - this is the primary way God grows His church and makes us His disciples. In light of this, we are reminded to trust God's direction in our lives, to be sharpened in our faith by being more accurate in our beliefs and living, and to boldly speak the word of the Lord to each other and to others.
