Last Sunday, we began a special three-sermon series for the Easter season. Reflecting first on Matthew 21:1-11, we saw Jesus as the humble King who comes to bring peace. Jesus is the long-awaited, promised king whose arrival is not random. The coming of Jesus is a deliberate plan of God. On Palm Sunday, we remember how Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey instead of riding a warhorse. This signifies how God’s King comes in humility, symbolizing peace rather than conquest. While powerful, Jesus approaches His mission with gentleness and grace. God’s promised King brings true peace to the world by coming to save us. Jesus comes to die as our Savior, reconciling people to Himself. Jesus is the humble King who deserves all praise. Let us praise King Jesus for He saves; let us praise Him because He rules with kindness and compassion. Praise King Jesus because He is sent from God. Let us announce to the world as the crowds did that day, hosanna in the highest - the humble King has been exalted.
